United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) granted a patent to Quick Heal Technologies for anti ransomware technologies. Grant of patent advanced cybersecurity capabilities of Quick Heal Technologies.
Quick Heal Technologies has become the first Indian company, which was granted a patent for its ground-breaking anti-ransomware technology. It is created and developed by Quick Heal's state-of-the-art R&D and innovation centre in Pune.
Seqrite, the enterprise arm of Quick Heal Technologies, has also launched a proprietary, AI-led threat hunting engine called “GoDeep.AI”. This technology combats existing and emerging threats. A patent is a government authority or licence conferring a right or title for a set period, especially the sole right to exclude others from making, using, or selling an invention.
Quick Heal Technologies Ltd. is an IT security solutions provider headquartered in Pune, India. The company was formerly known as CAT Computer Services (P) Ltd and was started as a computer service centre in 1995. The company was renamed as Quick Heal Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in 2007.
Ransomware is a type of malicious software designed to block access to a computer system until a sum of money is paid. Ransomware attacks accounted for 23 per cent of over 973 million malware attacks on end-user devices across the country in 2018. Ransomware threats far surpass the preventive capacities of traditional security solutions. The anti-ransomware technology uses signature-less behavioural detection to proactively block new and unknown ransomware attacks in real-time, the company claims.
Its unique and advanced algorithms conduct focused activity-based detection, while also empowering users to recover their critical data in case of a breach. Quick Heal Technologies was up to 2.36 per cent to Rs 167.50 on the BSE after it was granted patent by USPTO.
